The Annual Pet Service
Our Pet Service is always an opportunity for folk in the community to think about the companionship that their pets bring, the comfort, joy and warmth. The service is about giving thanks for created order and includes a biblical reading, a thoughtful line or two from St Francis, hymns, prayers and a reflection. Yes, there are blessings too, given to people and animals, for all of us are part of God’s handiwork.
Up until now, our four-legged animal guests have been wonderfully well behaved and each is introduced by its owner to the congregation. Oh, and every pet guest goes home with a doggy bag – or cat bag as the case may be!

Advent Carol Service
The church is cloaked in darkness and a lone voice breaks the silence. A glimmer of light appears from the back of the sanctuary.
The people who walk in darkness have seen a great light.
The season of Advent has begun and we begin our journey to the manger in Bethlehem where in just under four weeks time the Christ child will be born.

Community Carol Service
At this service we welcome everyone from across the village, whether they are church-goers or not. Candles around the church, are decorated and beautiful flower arrangements set the scene for this festive gathering.
The Lessons are read by members of the Kilmacolm community. There are familiar carols and a soloist will bring both traditional and contemporary songs of Christmas.
The Service is held on the last Friday before Christmas.
We finish with mulled wine and mince pies.
